Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as taking attendance, to preparing the church bulletins.

Worldwide Mission Outreach

The Sheffield Church is thrilled to be part of spreading the Gospel around the world. For over 125 years the Church of God has been a distinctive movement focused upon communicating the gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit. Presently, the Church of God has a world-wide membership of over 7 million with a presence in nearly 180 countries.

Local Mission Outreach

In addition our church is involved with numerous local projects.  We participate with Second Harvest Food Bank, Love Inc., Christmas Angel, area prisons and our own Street Ministry.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website.  We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Ushers & Greeter Ministries

A wonderful place for new attenders to get involved is with our Usher & Greeter Ministries.  If you have a smile to share you are invited to get involved.

Prayer Partners

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer.  On Monday mornings at 9:00 a.m. our women meet for a time of prayer.  Our men meet on Tuesday mornings at 6:30 a.m. and Saturday mornings at 8:30 a.m.  Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Force team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.

Children & Teens

While all regular workers must go through background checks and training, there are many areas where volunteers are needed to help with special events.
